Re: Call for Nominations, WVHIMSS 2017 Board of Directors
On behalf of the WVHIMSS Nominations Committee, it is my pleasure to invite all WVHIMSS members to submit nominations for candidates to serve on the 2017 WVHIMSS Board of Directors for the following positions:
- Vice President/President Elect
- Members at Large (5)
I invite you to view the WVHIMSS Board and Committees presentation that helps outline the responsibilities for each position and also provides estimates of the time required to fulfill the duties of each office. Interested candidates may also email email@example.com to contact the incumbents for more detail on activities associated with the positions.
Candidate Requirement: Each candidate will be required to submit a Candidate Biography and a picture for the ballot. You must be a current HIMSS regular member or above. Chapter Only members and Student members are not eligible. You must also have been a WV HIMSS member longer than 1 year.
Nomination Process: The WVHIMSS Nominations Committee will present to the Board of Directors all qualified candidates for each open position. The Board of Directors will select from these candidates and present to the membership a slate of nominated candidates for each open position on the Board.
Ballot: The election of the 2017 Board of Directors will be conducted electronically. All WVHIMSS members in good standing will be eligible to vote for the 2017 Board of Directors.
Election Schedule: The following are the important milestones in the 2017 nominations and election process:
- April 19-May 5, 2017 Call for Board Candidates,
- May 8-25, 2017 Nomination and Candidate review and selection
- May 15-19, 2017 Request for Candidate Biography/Election Site Configuration
- May 22-June 2, 2017 Election
In addition, we need to “staff” the following committees / committee chair positions. These are not elected positions, so if you volunteer – you are on!

If you or someone you know would like to be considered for one of the elected board positions, or participate on any of the committees, please email the board at firstname.lastname@example.org by 5:00pm ET May 5, 2017. You will receive a confirmation of your nomination from a board member within 24 hours.
